Long story short.

I’m a 28 year old photographer raised in Mechelen and after living in Leuven for a couple of years I recently moved to back Mechelen, but working troughout Belgium. I graduated as a nurse but I never really used my degree because I chose to persue a career as a full time photographer. Although a while, because of this lovely virus called COVID-19 I decided to put my degree to a good use and temporarily became a nurse again to fill in the empty spots last summer eager to get back out there and create some new beautiful stories.

“Chaotic with a spontaneous touch”

Chaotic with a spontaneous touch is the best way to describe me as well as my photography I guess. Add some silly humour, a bit of clumsiness, a lot of talking and you pretty much get the package.

Because of my passion for photography originated in nightlife I never really could plan or even direct the people I would shoot. The best shots were those split second decisions where everything falls in the right place: the lights, the dj, the stage, those pure nightly emotions….

This is the vibe I search for in other fields of photography. Of course some decent planning/location hunting/preparation is vital sometimes but when it really comes to the shooting itself I try to let it all just go. You don’t know how many people say to me: “Well… we’re not really those kind of people who act great in front of a camera.” Look at the pictures here:

They all said that same thing. Did we prove them wrong or what?

And I get it but it doesn’t have to be that way. The main goal is to have fun, let me worry about the images.

Good examples are wedding shoots. Yes location hunting is vital and getting there at the right time of the day is a must but when you look beyond these things I just love to wander around give some minor directions and just shoot. The pictures follow naturally.

What do I work with?

Started my career at the Canon camp but after a theft were I lost all my gear, I switched to Nikon and I'm now owning a Z8, Z6II, a Sigma 70-200mm f. 2.8, a nikon 85mm f1.8, a sigma 35mm f1.4, a nikkor 17-28mm a DJI Air 2s. So yes, drone images are certainly possible!
